The Department of English, Annamalai University organized one-day community outreach programme on 9.04.2025 at Siluvaipuram Village. The Dean, Faculty of Marine Sciences Professor Dr. P. Soundara Pandian acted as a Chief Guest and presided over the programme. In his presidential address, he emphasized the importance of community service and social extension activities for youth which make them complete and successful personalities in their future. The Professor and Head, Dr. J. Arul Anand commended the curriculum based extension activities which make the students get social consciousness. Dr. R. Neelakandan, Professor of Psychology offered mental health tips to the students. Dr. T.K. Senthilmurugan, Professor of Community Medicine provided health related suggestions to the student community. The Managing Trustee of Deepam Trust Mr. A. Zacharias offered his felicitation. Dr. S. Ayyappa Raja, professor of English welcomed the gathering. Dr. S. Florence, Professor of English proposed a vote of thanks. Around fifty students from Department of English, Annamalai University participated in this extension activity and they indulged in tree sapling plantations, data collection related to socio, economic and health aspects.
