Institute of Health and Management Studies, under the aegis of SAMARTHYA Education and Social Welfare Society was conceptualized to cater to the growing health education needs of the country with the focus on national and international health. The overarching mission of the Institute is to advance the public’s health through education, learning, and communication.
India bears a massive burden of diseases along with a growing lack of trained manpower in specialized areas such as public health, preventive cardiology, maternity & neonatal care, family medicine, hospital & healthcare management. Healthcare industry in India is all set to grow exponentially and double the presently employed number of over 4 million people by 2012.
Through the Annamalai University’s new, highly innovative,
job-oriented courses in public health, preventive cardiology, family medicine, applied ergonomics, maternity & neonatal care, hospital management etc., IHMS prepares its students for leadership roles in the healthcare, hospital and public health sector through training in planning, operational and project management of all these sectors.
The programme is formatted such that within the stipulated time frame of contact classes, apart from the classroom didactic lectures, students spend a substantial amount of their learning time in various healthcare delivery related set-ups where they are exposed to actual hands on practical training.
IHMS has a modern campus in the picturesque location of
NH-8, opposite to IGI Airport, New Delhi. IHMS has highly experienced faculty members from academia and industry, excellent infrastructure, teaching aids, good library, wi-fi campus and a hygienic cafeteria.
Therefore, the twinning collaborative programme at IHMS aims to provide an excellent platform to students for enhancing their knowledge base and skills, thereby creating an Institution par excellence. |
