PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION
(a) Spot Selection (Except Lateral entry Programmes)
    If you are living near any one of our Study Centres noted in this prospectus, step in for Spot Admission. Selection for direct admission to all the programmes will be made at the Study Centres (except Lateral Entry Programmes) subject to confirmation by the Director.
For Spot Selection, the candidates must bring the following documents in person:
  1. Filled in application along with attested xerox copies of Certificates for minimum required eligibility qualification and age.
  2. Certificates, in Original, for minimum required eligibility qualification and Transfer/Migration Certificate.
  3. Two stamp size Photographs for Identity Card and Scanning Form. Applicants should not sign on the photograph affixed in the scanning form.
  4. A Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Director, D.D.E., Annamalai University for the prescribed fees as per the Item No. 6 for the mode of payment.
   Original Certificates will be returned immediately after verification. The transfer certificate/migration certificate after affixing a seal that the candidate is admitted during the academic year 2010-11.
    All spot admissions will need to be confirmed by the Director or cancelled if found not eligible.
(b) Admission through Post
    If the applicant's place is not near any of the Study Centres, the filled-in application may be sent to the Director, Directorate of Distance Education, Annamalai University, Annamalainagar – 608 002 along with attested xerox copies of
(i) Certificates for the eligible qualification, (ii) Transfer/ Migration Certificate and (iii) Two passport size photographs pasted on Identity Card and Scanning Form.
    Students seeking admission through post need not enclose the original certificates and demand draft along with the admission application.
    On receipt of provisional admission cards, they have to send by Registered post or Courier or Speed post or produce in person, the Original Certificates of (i) Educational qualification (ii) Transfer/ Migration Certificate (for which attested xerox copies have been enclosed to the application form) and a Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Director, D.D.E., Annamalai University for the prescribed fees, observing the guidelines given on the Mode of Payment.
    The admission confirmation, the signed identity card and the original certificates including Transfer Certificate/Migration Certificate after affixing a seal on the TC that the candidate is admitted during the academic year 2010-2011, will be returned to the student through Registered post.
    If the certificates submitted by a candidate are found to be bogus / fake, his/her admission will be cancelled and the fees remitted will also be forfeited.
6. MODE OF PAYMENT
        The fees payable are given in this prospectus on pages 25 and 26.
        Payment of tuition fee and other charges to the Directorate of Distance Education should be in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of THE DIRECTOR, D.D.E., ANNAMALAI UNIVERSITY on any one of the following eleven banks:
  1. Indian Bank, Annamalainagar

  2. ICICI Bank, Annamalainagar (Code 6212)
  3. State Bank of India payable at Chennai Service Branch
  4. Central Bank of India, Chidambaram
  5. Punjab National Bank, Chidambaram
    (Code 103)
  6. District Central Co-operative Bank,
    Chidambaram (Code 11233)
  7. City Union Bank, Chidambaram
  8. Karur Vysya Bank, Chidambaram
    (Code 1116)
  9. Indian Overseas Bank, Chidambaram
    (Code 1354)
  10. Vijaya Bank, Chidambaram  (Code 3068)
  11. HDFC Bank, Chidambaram (Code 1051)
  12. Canara Bank, Chidambaram (Code 2924)

        Those who are not able to purchase Demand Drafts on the above mentioned banks can send the Demand Drafts drawn on any other bank but payable at the Chennai  service branch.
        Before sending the Demand Drafts to the Directorate students should see that they contain the following items of information:

  1. name of the drawing/drawee branch of the bank;
  2. code number of the drawing/drawee branch of the bank;
  3. date of issue of the Demand Draft, and
  4. signature of the Officer of the drawing branch.

        Cheques, Postal Orders, Pay orders and Money Orders will not be accepted under any circumstances.
        Students must write their Application number or Enrolment number, Name and the Programme on the back side of the draft. They should not sign anywhere on the demand draft.
        Annamalai University Computer Training Centres are authorized to collect the Demand Draft taken in favour of “The Director, DDE, Annamalai University” from the second instalment onwards from the students undergoing training in their respective centres.
        Tuition fee and other charges may be remitted through the Study Centres by way of Demand Draft/Challan.
        Fees may also be remitted by cash at the counter of the Annamalainagar on all working days between 2.00 P.M. and
5.00 P.M.
        Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
