| DIGITAL VOICE INFORMATION SYSTEM (DVIS) |
| A fully Automated Computerized Telephone Answering Service. It is an automated information service,
responds when you call any of the following numbers. By calling the following numbers, you can get
information about the Programs offered by the institution, Students' Results and Marks, Tuition fees arrears;
Examination related enquiries, Venue and other details-that too in Tamil, English, Hindi and Telegu. Apart from
the above, it has also got a Grievance Register facility, where students can record their Grievance for about a
minute and will be answered by the Institution later and the service is available round the clock. For further
details refer Annexure-II .

MESSAGE ALERT SERVICE (MAS)
The Message Alert Service introduced in the DDE is a boon to distance learners. To make use of this
service, students have to register their cell Phone number as given in Annexure-III. Students will receive
automated communications in message format on their cell phones such as admission confirmation,
despatch of lessons, PCP schedule, reminders of last date for payment of fees, examination results etc.
SHORT MESSAGE SERVICE (SMS)
A computerized Short Message Service (SMS) is introduced to reply students queries through cell phone message. This service will help the students to get the information regarding admission, lesson, dispatch, payment details, personal contact program details, examination results etc. by just sending message to the cell phone number 9442551111. A computer server maintained in the DDE will send the reply message to the student's cell phone immediately. For further details refer (Annexure –IV)
WIDE AREA NETWORK (WAN)
Wide area network (WAN) connectivity with the following Study Centres: Chennai, Coimbatore, Salem, Trichy, Madurai, Nagercoil, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata and New Delhi.
The Centralised database would facilitate the students to collect all the details pertaining to the admissions, sale of applications, tuition fee, enrolment status, despatch of study materials, examination register number, venue, results and issue of certificates, besides the vital information related to PCP etc.
Working days of the Directorate
The office of the Directorate of Distance Education at Annamalainagar remains open on all days except
Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
Office Hours: 9.45 a.m. to 5.45 p.m. with a break for lunch between 1:00 p.m. and 2.00 p.m.

| JURISDICTION |
With regard to any dispute arising in all matters including admission, returning of Original Certificates, sending
of lessons, Personal Contact Programme, examinations, remittance of fees, etc., only the Courts and Tribunals
having jurisdiction over Annamalainagar and not over any other place, shall have jurisdiction for the purpose of
filing a suit or preferring complaint under the Consumer Protection Act or any other law for the time being in
force or taking any legal proceeding against the Directorate of Distance Education or the Controller of
Examinations of Annamalai University.
The applicant should sign a declaration accordingly on the form of Application submitted by him/her.
Admission cannot be claimed as a matter of right. The D.D.E., or the Controller of Examinations is not
responsible for the loss/delay in the delivery of postal articles sent by the D.D.E. or the Controller of
Examinations. |

SOME PRIVATE INSTITUTES/INDIVIDUALS POSING AS OUR AGENTS ARE ALLEGEDLY COLLECTING FEES, ISSUING APPLICATION FORMS AND PROMISING ADMISSION AND PASS IN EXAMINATION, TO OUR PROGRAMMES. THE DIRECTORATE HAS AUTHORISED ONLY INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TELECOM MANAGEMENT, 16, AVTAR ENCLAVE, PASCHIM VIHAR, NEW DELHI 110 063 AND ITS AUTHORISED CENTRES, TO ACT AS OUR CO-ORDINATOR FOR TRAINING ALL THE TELECOM MANAGEMENT PROGRAMMES THROUGH DDE OF OUR UNIVERSITY APART FROM INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TELECOM MANAGEMENT, NEW DELHI AND THEIR ASSOCIATES THE DIRECTORATE HAS NO SUCH AGENTS AND TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS. THEREFORE, CANDIDATES ARE, ADVISED TO CONTACT OR CORRESPOND DIRECTLY WITH THE DIRECTORATE OR ITS STUDY CENTRES OR THE INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TELECOM MANAGEMENT OR ITS CENTRES ONLY.
THE CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED TO APPLY DIRECTLY TO THE DIRECTORATE OR CONTACT THE STUDY CENTRES OR INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TELECOM MANAGEMENT CENTRES INDIVIDUALLY FOR APPLICATION FORM AS WELL AS FOR ADMISSION.
THE CANDIDATES ARE ALSO WARNED NOT TO BECOME VICTIMS OF CHEATING AND EXPLOITATION BY BOGUS CLAIMANTS IN THIS REGARD.
INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TELECOM MANAGEMENT AND ITS ASSOCIATES HAVE BEEN AUTHORISED TO CONDUCT TELECOM MANAGEMENT PROGRAMMES ON BEHALF OF ANNAMALAI UNIVERSITY. APPLICATION FORMS FOR ADMISSION CAN ALSO BE HAD FROM THEM.
Further, if it becomes known at any time during the programmes of study that a student had applied for admission through tutorials or any other agency, his/her admission will be cancelled and the student will not be entitled for any relief whatsoever as against the Directorate of Distance Education, including refund of tuition fees. |
